Entry Cabinet and Room Divider

BRIEF:
This entry cabinet, part of a living room reno, had to serve as a partition to give privacy to the living room, store coats, boots, and hats, and provide seating. It housed an etched glass screen and had to be invisibly anchored to the floor joists beneath to ensure stability and imobility. This posed some engineering challenges, but we were able to fully realize the architect’s vision.

MATERIALS:
Walnut veneer on UltraCore, edged with solid black walnut. Hand scraped and sanded, and hand rubbed with three coats of tung oil.
