Contemporary Heritage Kitchen

We made the millwork for this 11 foot tall kitchen for an heritage home in Oakville. What a delightful combination of old and new, modern and traditional, expertly designed by Robyn Huether Architect and made with the passion and commitment you expect from us.

Authentic Materials

Both the client and architect like preserving the original brick of old buildings. Additionally, the client asked us to salvage and install these 150 year old roof boards that were previously removed during an earlier renovation. They were lightly belt-sanded, (mostly) de-nailed, and finished with very low viscosity epoxy.

Contiguous Lighting

The architect specified a contiguous strip of LED lighting to run from the bottom of one upper cabinet, through the bottom of the rustic shelf and into the bottom of the other cabinet. It was a challenging but satisfying installation.

Bejewelled Door Pulls

The client and architect had fun picking out these gorgeous door pulls (yes, they’re as expensive as they look; the client wouldn’t tell me the price!). They make a stunning complement to the millwork.
